The Message this Week
Preaching Text: Isaiah 55:1-13
Real Food, No Money! In a very poetic passage this week, Isaiah proclaims that there is something better than food and other tangible things that we spend a great deal of time striving for. We love the poetry and the images of hope, but what about the tangible needs- ours and the world's- of the moment? We will explore together this weekend.
Mighty God, help me to be nourished first with Your word and then to trust You to provide the rest, showing me Your provision and challenging me to provide for others in need. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.
It's great for Isaiah to invite us to eat and shop without money. How does our faith take care of our real needs?

- Turn our hearts to you, and give us your eyes to see the world you made.
- Inspire us to proclaim your promises to all who need to hear them.
- May we neither avoid nor stand in the way of your powerful purposes, but rather be your agents of change and mouthpieces of proclamation on behalf of your gospel.
- Give us your life-giving water when we thirst for healing, wholeness, and restoration. Offer your cup of living water to all who have particular needs.
- To the cries of all the saints who testified to your glory and who lived and died in you, we add our voices, trusting that you will empower us as you did them.
- For our new members: James & Amy Cho; Christine Russell and child, Trent; Pat Owen; Penny Olson Langland; Tom Langland; Dana & Ray McMullen; Becky Perez and children, Luna & Olive; Lisa & Candido Monroy and children, Russell & Laila
Steadfast and loving God, gather these prayers we have offered, both aloud and silent, into your loving arms, for we know that you are faithful and will never abandon us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

End of Year Giving
Thanks to all who support the sharing of Christ's love with our community through Geneva Lutheran Church! As you plan your end of year generosity, here are a few reminders:
-
Online giving is a great way to give, and giving from a bank account rather than a credit card can help avoid additional bank fees.
- Gifts mailed to the church must be postmarked by December 31, 2025 to be included in 2025 giving statements.
- Stock Donations and Required Minimum Distribution gifts (for those 73 or older) are also a great way to support our ministry. Talk to Lisa Kanzler in our office.

Money is truly a double-sided coin (no pun intended!). We need it, we enjoy it, and we spend it. But on the other side of that coin is debt - something everyone struggles with at some point in their life. Sometimes debt can become overwhelming, especially at this time of year and despite the best effort to stay financially on track. Debt can be the result of job loss, illness, unexpected repairs, and other events that we have little or no control over. Whatever the cause, it’s a valid reason to need a Stephen Minister, because they will be there to listen with empathy and understanding, not judgement. Your Stephen Minister will reassure you that God can and will lead you through any difficult season with love and guidance.
Contact Pastor Trudy for more information.

Stephen Ministry
a poem by Dotty Johnson
Our God is such an awesome God.
He loves us without end.
He chooses many ways to aid,
And, sometimes with a friend.
