LATIN

Milton Enjoys Unprecedented Success on the National Latin Exam

The results are in for the 2023 National Latin Exam. The National Latin Exam is a challenging test that assesses students' knowledge of Latin grammar, vocabulary, culture, and literature. It's administered annually to students all over the United States and beyond, acting as the culmination of a year of intense studying. Students have to demonstrate a deep understanding of the intricacies of Latin, including verb conjugations, noun declensions, and the many nuances of sentence structure.

Milton students have achieved astounding results on the National Latin Exam, year after year. Every Milton student who took the exam this year scored above the national average, and many have earned top honors, including three students who earned Perfect Papers, the most in Milton’s history.

On account of their continued success, accumulating three or more gold awards, Ethan Kim, Jenna McCulloch, and Max Shytrbulov have all qualified for the The National Latin Exam scholarship. The NLE scholarship awards 16 $2,000 scholarships annually to qualifying high school seniors. Applications for these scholarships are mailed to gold medal winners on the Advanced Latin Prose Exam, the Advanced Latin Poetry Exam, and the Advanced Latin Reading Comprehension Exam.

They're not content to simply learn Latin - they want to excel at it, to push themselves to new heights of understanding and mastery. Congratulations to these fine scholars, their dedication and industriousness have been reified by their success on this years exam!
