MILTON PTO

UPDATE

Congratulations to this year's recipient of the Brittany Feldman "Be a Blessing" Scholarship, Nolan Sims! Nolan received a scholarship from the Feldman family in memory of their amazing daughter, Brittany, an MHS alumnus. We wish Nolan the best of luck as he continues his education.

The MHS PTO is proud to announce the recipients of the 2023 PTO scholarships:

  • The Arts - Peyton Werner
  • Academic Excellence - Isabella Szabo
  • Community Service - Riley O'Connor

Peyton, Isabella and Riley each received a $1000 check from the MHS PTO. We had triple the applicants for our scholarships this year as compared to last year! Committees made up of guidance counselors and non-senior parents were given the scholarship applications (without any personal information which would identify the applicants) and asked to review them. These three applications stood out among the rest! We congratulate these students, and wish them well in their bright futures!

  • Our final PTO meeting of the school year will take place on Tuesday, May 16 at 9:15 am in the media center. Come to hear important PTO updates, then plan to stay for Fulton County School Board member Lillie Pozatek's Community Meeting at 10:00 am. Lillie is bringing Dr. Gonzalo LaCava (FCS Chief Human Resources Officer) and Tris Gilland (FCS Exceptional Children Executive Director). Don't miss this chance to hear updates from Lillie!

Visit our website to find out about all volunteer openings, sign up to help out, and to stay informed on all things PTO.

ATTENTION RISING JUNIORS

2023-2024 Back-to-School Immunization Requirements

Rising 11th Grade Students: Effective July 1, 2021, all students entering or transferring into the 11th grade will need proof of a meningococcal booster (MCV4), unless their first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday.

Additionally, the new Certificate of Immunization Form 3231 (Revised 7/2014) is a requirement for all students to register for school. The new 3231 Certificate of Immunization Form can be obtained from a community provider and/or local health departments who should also have access to GRITS (The Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services). Proof of both vaccinations MUST be documented on the Georgia Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231). Certificates issued prior to July 1, 2014, can be submitted only if Form 3231 (Revised 3/2007) shows proof of the two vaccinations unless the child has an exemption.

NOTE NEW CHANGE: Georgia Department of Public Health has developed a new Affidavit of Religious Objection to Immunization Form 2208 for use by all new students enrolling in a Fulton County School beginning with the 2015-2016 school year who wish to submit a religious exemption. You can find the new form at http://dph.georgia.gov/schools-and-childcare under forms and brochures.

Please check to make sure your student has all required vaccinations even if the certificate is marked complete. If the Certificate is marked complete and the child does not have the required vaccines, he/she must return to their primary care provider or public health center to receive the required vaccines and be issued a new/updated certificate.

For more information, visit http://dph.georgia.gov/vaccines-children or call 1-800-848-3868.
