The Will To Live Foundation, a Johns Creek based 501(c)(3) non-profit is beginning it’s 13th year! John and Susie Trautwein with the help of the kids at Northview High School, founded the foundation in October of 2010 after Will Trautwein, a 15 year old freshman at Northview, lost his life to depression and suicide. The foundation’s mission has always been to raise the awareness of teen suicide in our communities. John Trautwein has given motivational speeches throughout our school system, about the power of Life Teammates in our lives to help create a culture where it is “Okay to not be Okay” and talk about it – with a goal of erasing the stigma of mental illness.
5K RUN INFO
The Where There’s A Will There’s a Way 5K - a fun run for hope is the signature event of the foundation, and it’s 13th running will be held this coming February 4 in Johns Creek at River Trail Middle School / Shakerag park (as it has in the past). The money raised by this event has not only funded the implementation of the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program in every public school in Fulton and Cobb county, but in high schools all over the country. Here is the webpage for the event if you need more information. https://will-to-live.org/willsway5k23/

Please remember to be proactive on your requests for transcripts and recommendations for colleges with deadlines!
We anticipate that mid-year transcripts/reports will be available to send to colleges in late January. We are unable to send mid-year transcripts/reports until transcripts have been finalized by the district office. Not all colleges require a mid-year report, but it is your responsibility to check to see if a college you are applying to/have been accepted to requires the mid-year report. If they do, here are the steps to request a mid-year report in Naviance:
- Log in to ClassLink > Naviance-Stu
- From Naviance Student, navigate to Colleges > Apply to College > Request Transcripts
- Click the Add (Pink Plus)
- Select either College Application Transcript or Other Transcript.
- Follow the steps depending on the transcript selection (mid-year transcript).
You can also submit a request for your counselor to send a mid-year transcript/report here: www.bit.ly/MiltonMidYear
Thank you,
Milton Counseling
