ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT THIS WEEK | |
Students will receive Verification Form #1 in Advisement on Monday, February 6. You or your student may have questions, and we want to help you! Counselors will be in the Media Center Back Classroom this week at the following times for STUDENT walk-ins:
- Monday, February 6 from 12PM to 3:30PM
- Wednesday, February 8 from 8AM-3:30PM
- Friday, February 10 from 8AM-3:30PM
If you are a parent/guardian and have questions, please EMAIL your assigned counselor for assistance. These walk-ins are for STUDENTS ONLY. Thank you!

REGISTRATION TIMELINE FOR 2023-2024 SY | |
Registration Timeline for 2023-2024 SY
As shared in the Registration 101 Sessions and on the Eagle Update, the expected registration timeline is as follows:

Monday, February 6: Students will receive Verification Form #1 (free for all changes!)

Tuesday, February 14: Verification Form #1 is DUE (this is the end of free for all changes)

Monday, February 20: Students will receive Verification Form #2 (limited number of changes allowed)

Friday, February 24: Verification Form #2 is DUE (Form #2 is the last opportunity to indicate you want an online course in your schedule for the 2023-2024 school year)
Course selections during registration are considered FINAL. There are limited to no opportunities for additional changes beyond these deadlines. Students are advised to use the time allotted to make educated decisions; turning in the Verification Form faster does not mean you have a better chance of getting your desired schedule
In lieu of scheduling individual academic advisement appointments, counselors will be available in the Media Center for STUDENT walk-ins on the afternoon of February 6, all-day February 8, and all-day February 10. This will allow students to come by and ask any questions related to courses and registration without needing an appointment

Student Council will be hosting our second pep rally of the year. It will feature and celebrate ALL Winter and Spring sports in a "flash from the past" senior field day themed event. We can't wait to celebrate with students Tuesday during advisement! | |

Need Volunteer Hours? MHS Garden Can Help!
Senior Henry Brown will be completing his "Eagle Scout Project" in the MHS CBI Garden Area On Saturday and Sunday Feb. 11 & 12. (Weather Permitting)

The MHS Garden Club will be selling "Cupid's Cocoa From the Garden" on February 14 in the cafeteria during lunch. Students can purchase Cupid's Cocoa for $3.00 each as a Valentine's Day gift or to enjoy after school. | |

UPDATE
This week, your PTO membership dollars went towards providing items for the MHS PBIS program. PBIS is a Fulton County Schools program that supports positive behavior reinforcement. MHS Staff recognizes positive behavior in students by giving out PBIS tickets which can be redeemed for items in the school store, such as snacks and beverages.
UPCOMING EVENTS
- Parents of MHS Seniors, be on the look out for the PTO Scholarship application, which will be launched in the next week. The PTO gives out three $1000 scholarships directly to students based on Academic Excellence, the Arts and Community Service. Be sure to encourage your senior to apply!
- The PTO is leading an effort to clean out and organize the MHS Stadium Ticket Room. The clean out will take place on Wednesday, 2/15. See our website for more details and to sign up.

Congratulations to Junior Ava Taylor for garnering the 2D Award for the GAEA/NAHS Push Pin Show at GA College and State University! A big congrats to the entire team who attended Georgia’s National Art Honor Society Leadership Conference: Aoife Donohoe, President; Jenna McCullough, VP; Ava Taylor, Secretary/Historian; Danielle Hackett, Member-at-Large. DECA
Last weekend, Milton's DECA club had its' first competition. At the conference, 11 students competed in 5 different events including: Integrated Marketing Campaign (service and product), Sports and Entertainment Operations Research, Marketing Management Team Decision Making Event, and Finance Operations Research. Seniors Gavin Harrison and Sujay Vijayakumar both placed in the top 8 in their category and qualified for the The DECA International Career Development Conference which will take place in Orlando, FL later this semester. Congratulations all inaugural members for a successful first conference!

LATIN
Milton Latin Excels at Fulton Forum
Congratulations to the Milton Latin students who participated in the 2023 Fulton Forum Language contest at North Springs High School on Saturday, January 21st. The Fulton Forum is the premiere Fulton County language contest, one of the few county-operated contests in the state of Georgia. The Milton Latin students who took part in this year’s contest did exceptionally well, with every student winning an award of Excellent or higher.

Kudos to these fine Classicists for their dedication and enthusiasm for erudition. Milton High School Boys Lacrosse greatly appreciates any and all donation contributions to our program. Will Hutchison '25
This season, the Eagles are rockin' some special swag on their helmets in honor of team-mate, Will Hutchison '25, who is recovering in the hospital after getting struck by a car in early January.
When you see the WH on their helmets, know the Eagles are playing hard for Will and keeping Will and his family in their thoughts and hearts.

PRINCETON REVIEW COLLEGE ADMISSIONS WEEK | |
Seniors have mostly completed their applications and are waiting for decision letters from colleges. That means it’s time for juniors and sophomores to begin thinking about their college application process. Peachtree College Planning Presents: Junior Jumpstart!
MHS Counseling is a proud partner of Peachtree College Planning, and Junior Jumpstart is a great first step to successful college planning. Rising Juniors and Seniors are you looking for an opportunity to explore how your skills and interests might play out in the workplace through hands-on, real life experiences? An Internship will also provide you with a mentor in your field of interest who can provide guidance about what your educational next steps should be to best prepare for a career in that field. 2023-2024 CHEERLEADING INFO MEETING | |
If you are interested in trying out for basketball, football and or competition cheerleading for the 2023-2024 season, please plan on attending an informational meeting on Monday, February 6 at 6:30PM in the Auditorium. This meeting is for both the parent and the athlete. | |
The Milton Model United Nations club will be hosting a conference on Saturday, March 25! This conference is open to all Milton High School students, regardless of whether or not you are a current member of the club. Our conference will have committees geared to all levels of experience.
