REDISTRICTING MEETINGS

Residents of Fulton County are assigned to a school attendance zone based on their residential address. When new schools or additional classroom capacity are added in a region, or imbalances of enrollment and capacity exist, the Board may direct staff to review attendance boundaries for modifications. This process of revising attendance boundaries is called redistricting.

Each time a redistricting effort is under way, the school system holds three rounds of meetings to gather information needed to draft a redistricting proposal that best meets the community's needs. Unlike other school systems, Fulton uses a process that encourages public discussion before developing a proposal. This allows the community to have maximum input in how the proposed attendance lines are created.

There is ONE MORE meeting scheduled for North Fulton:

Round Three

October 18, 2022 (6:00 to 8:00 P.M.) at Alpharetta High School

Final Recommendations; First Read - November 8

Final Action: December 15

For more information, please go to:

https://www.fultonschools.org/redistricting

HALL OF FAME CEREMONIES

Make plans to attend this year's Hall of Fame ceremonies starting with the Red Jacket Presentation during the football halftime this Friday (10/14) and continuing with the induction ceremony on Saturday night (10/15) at 7:00PM in the auditorium. We're hoping for a big crowd to come out to celebrate our inductees. Everyone is invited!

CENTENNIAL PLAZA RIBBON CUTTING

Our MHS 100th Anniversary Celebration is coming to an end with a ribbon cutting for our new Centennial Plaza on the front lawn. Please join us on Friday 10/14 at 6:30 on the front lawn at the flag pole to see our 75th and 100th anniversary commemorative bricks and hear from alumni and administrators make a few remarks. The ceremony will be finished in time to head to the football game with plenty of time. We're looking forward to seeing everyone!

PSAT DAY

REMINDERS ABOUT THE PSAT DAY (October 25th, 2022)

  • It will be an Early Release Day: dismissal at 12:30PM12th graders do NOT report to school on 10/25/2021
  • All 9th through 11th graders are automatically registered to take PSAT on October 25, 2021. Fulton County Schools pays for 9th and 11th grade test takers and the state of Georgia pays for 10th grade test takers.
  • It is critical for all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students to be in attendance on this testing day. We kindly request to consider NOT checking your child out of school for ANY reason during that day so they can complete the entire test.
  • There are NO MAKE UP SESSIONS for the PSAT. So, if they do not finish their test in one setting, they will NOT receive a score.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test ( PSAT) is a great tool for students considering college.

The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. Milton High School recommends that students take the PSAT/NMSQT in order to receive feedback about strengths and weaknesses, enter the competition for National Merit Scholar scholarships (11th graders) and prepare for the SAT.
