June 2022 Newsletter - ALS Awareness Month
Hello to all of our families and friends,

June is ALS Awareness Month, and as such it is the time that our community truly comes together to support each other across Alberta. We are excited to bring our events back in person after two long years.

We are blessed with the enthusiasm and support from the community as we continue our mission of making each day the best possible day for those living with and affected by ALS.

Our walks have a new look and name this year - Walk Together for ALS. We wanted to refresh our walks to share the message to inspire hope, care and community. Together, we are stronger.

A big thank you to our families, supporters, volunteers, donors, sponsors, staff and friends. Without you, we could not do what we do and have managed through the pandemic. We are excited to share the stories of some members of our community this month with our daily Making it Possible series on our website and social media channels.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the ALS Society of Alberta Board of Directors for 2022. Our passionate leaders are Nancy Lyzaniwski, Cathy Martin, Gord Banting, Tara Pentney, Tom Gee, Heather Haddow, Jim Robinson, Kimberly Howard and Pamela Keenan. This incredible group of individuals give of their time to lead our Society. Throughout the last two years, our board continued to support our team through the uncertainly the pandemic created. All have been personally touched by ALS, and their commitment to the cause is unwavering.

I hope to see you at our events this month, and look forward to finally catching up in person.

Karen Caughey,
Executive Director, ALS Society of Alberta
