THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
In June, 2021, the WHSAA Scholarship Committee awarded
33 graduating seniors $46,750 in scholarships.
Here’s a snapshot of the recipients:
17 males and 16 females received scholarships
The schools they are attending include Rutgers Newark and New Brunswick, NJIT, NJ City, Fordham, St. Francis, Kean, Lincoln and Drew Universities, and Lincoln Technical School.
They are majoring in computer science, biology, engineering, criminal justice and social services.
While in school (mostly remote), these students managed to achieve 2.60 - 4.0 GPAs. They participated in the National Honor Society, Poetry Club, Stand & Deliver, JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates), softball, basketball, track, robotics, band, track and field, football and various community service projects--either remotely or under very strict protocols.
We were also able to provide financial support to 11 prior year scholarship recipients who are currently in their 2nd, 3rd or senior year of college.
We paid out a total of $53,500 in scholarships
