2022 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
THE WHSAA IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE AWARDED 28 GRADUATING SENIORS WITH $2,000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO ASSIST THEM WITH THE COST OF COLLEGE AND / OR TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
WE WERE ABLE TO DO THIS BECAUSE OF THE GENEROSITY OF DONORS, OUR MEMBERSHIP AND THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS.

The 2022 WHS Graduation Keynote Speaker was Corey Barron Rodgers, WHS Class of 2009 and a Trustee on the WHSAA Board of Trustees. Pictured with him are Ms. Brynissa Francis (WHS senior class Advisor), Ms.Yolanda Bogan (WHS Guidance Counselor, WHS class of 1988, and WHSAA Board Trustee), and Mr.Kyle Thomas, WHS Principal.

The Class of 1971 - 50th Reunion Weekend
June 10-12, 2022
The weekend event drew alumni from all across the country. The Class of 1971 raised over $5,000 in Scholarships and memberships to the WHS Alumni Association. They also donated a Step and Repeat Banner for use by the WHSAA, the school and other classes.

A MAGICAL MUSICAL STUDENT OUTING
On June 3, 2022, the WHSAA sponsored a group of students to attend a Music Master Class and performance by Grammy-award winning musician, Steve Wooten at Kean University, The trip was arranged by WHS music teacher, Mr. Steve Pittman and the hightlight was Weequahic students being invited on-stage to show off their talent!

Based on the concept of an “ethical will,” Dr. Ken Dychtwald (WHS 1967) hosted a series of 12 unique and evergreen interviews with a prominent and diverse set of leading pathfinders in the fields of aging. Illuminated with captivating stories, this book, Sages of Aging: A Guide for Changemakers, edited by Ken Dychtwald and Elyse Pellman, encapsulates candid views on the “sages” personal journeys, core lessons learned, keys to impactful change-making, and how they envision transforming the roles of individuals, families, communities, and government, and for that matter, the entire field of aging.
