We believe it through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved . . . (Acts 15:11)
The songwriter called grace "amazing" because God gives us grace when we do not deserve it. Grace is kindness shown without regard to the worth or merit of the one who receives it.
In the Old Testament, the supreme example of grace was the redemption of the Hebrew people from Egypt and their establishment in the promised land.
In the New Testament and today, the grace of God is supremely revealed and given in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).
Grace is a mystery that we don't understand. It is amazing because it fills us with much awe when we receive it. God first gave His only begotten Son in order that we might also receive His Grace.
