“Love is the reflection of God’s unity in the world of duality. It constitutes the entire significance of creation.”

HEARTLAND MEMORIAL INITIATIVE UPDATE

The Heartland Memorial Initiative has been wholly dedicated to securing access to Baba‘s sacred sites in and around Prague. Since its formal launch in November, we’ve been gratified to see the growth in appreciation of the Initiative.

Over 1,000 people have viewed the film “Prague Hospital Memorial: A Tangible Link to the Eternal.” We have also now raised over $400,000 toward our $1.5 million fundraising goal in the form of donations and pledges. Though we still have some distance to go, the response from so many in our Baba community has been quite encouraging and we offer our heartfelt thanks!

On February 26th, Daniel Stone gave a presentation at Meherabad about Meher Baba’s 1952 accident, the Heartland Center, and the role of the Heartland Memorial Initiative. In the coming months, similar events will take place at the Southeast Gathering, Meherana, and via Baba Zoom. Let us know if we can arrange one in your area as well.

SHARING THE NEWS

Although Baba lovers from all parts of the world have visited Prague in recognition of His suffering on our behalf, there are many who have yet to discover these sacred sites. We are hopeful that as more people come to the Heartland Center, they will share in our efforts to acquire, preserve, and memorialize the hospital and the accident site when they become available.

We’ve created this card to help inform people of the Heartland Memorial Initiative’s purpose and goals. We are happy to send you as many cards as you would like to share with anyone who might be interested in learning more about our efforts. Please contact Pamela Butler-Stone (pamelabutlerstone@gmail.com) to let her know how many cards you would like and where to send them.

CHANGES AT THE HOSPITAL

The room where Meher Baba recovered after His 1952 accident is located in the Prague Regional Memorial Hospital. Over the years, the hospital staff has lovingly referred to it as “the prayer room” and warmly welcomed Heartland Center visitors. Recently, the hospital has needed Baba’s room as an office which contains confidential HIPAA files. As a result, Baba lovers no longer have access, at least for the foreseeable future.
The hospital administration has instead graciously provided a nearby alcove to place Baba’s photo, a table, and a few chairs. In this new space, visitors can continue to enjoy the atmosphere of Baba’s compassionate presence, which permeates the entire hospital.

The temporary loss of access to Baba’s room only deepens our awareness of how precious it is. It also reaffirms our determination to move forward with our mission to secure this as a pilgrimage site for all time.

With love in Beloved Baba to all,
