Letter from the chairs

A Message from the AMCA Young Professionals Committee Chairs

Nicole (Past Chair), CC (Chair), and Vilma (Co-Chair)

As we count down to the 2026 AMCA Annual Meeting, we are so excited to welcome you to Portland, Oregon, and to another energizing year for the American Mosquito Control Association Young Professionals (YPs).

The YPs Committee exists to support students and early-career professionals across mosquito control and public health. Through professional development opportunities, networking events, and leadership experiences, our goal is to help you build connections, grow your skills, and feel at home within the AMCA community.

This year’s annual meeting will be packed with opportunities to do just that. From career-focused opportunities to informal social events, the YPs have been busy planning activities designed to help you connect with peers, mentors, and leaders in the field—whether this is your first AMCA meeting or your eighth!

We are also incredibly grateful to our dedicated committee members and advisors who continue to bring fresh ideas and energy to the YPs program. Your enthusiasm is what makes the YPs thrive.

We can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet new ones in Portland. Be sure to check out the YPs events listed below, mark your calendars, and RSVP where required. Come learn, connect, and have a little fun with us along the way!

See you soon,

Nicole, CC, and Vilma
