AMD NEWS

Hey everyone! Dr. Nover here. Happy Friday!

Please discuss responsibility with your students. We have students sharing lockers, losing and breaking devices and students taking school calculators without returning them. It is imperative that students understand that they must take care of their belongings and our school belongings. At this time of the year, students will be losing the privilege of having a school device to take home. They will be required to leave the device at school and sign it out each day.

Please be sure to work with your child to ensure their chromebooks are fully charged in preparation for the simulation on Thursday, January 23rd.

Carefully review the mid-term week schedule and reach out with questions. We have provided updates to include bus information and meal information for the week.

On January 23rd at 5:00 PM we are hosting a family reading night. Bring your family, lawn chairs and blankets to read as a family in our gym. Then, share a meal together. This event is free, but will include a bake sale to raise money for our student council. Please see the attached flier for more information! And the PTA will also be sending information for families to volunteer to support. We are definitely looking for folks to donate food that we can share as a community.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day we honor more than just an individual, we honor and celebrate the ideas and ideals for which Dr. King stood. Dr. King did not work alone in his pursuit of a world in which our nation lives the true meaning of its creed that all men are created equal. Dr. King was part of a legacy carried by a coalition of people across generational, racial, religious, and cultural lines.

At AMD, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by positioning our students as leaders. In our commitment to their leadership we are elevating their voices and creating opportunities for them to see the difference they can make in our world.

¡Hola a todos! Dr. Nover aquí. ¡Feliz viernes!
