Hey everyone! Dr. Nover here. Happy Friday! 

We completed another successful evacuation drill. Our student leaders are doing an incredible job with our new procedure! 

We also survived our first full moon of the year. All jokes aside, it is imperative that all families speak with their student leaders about appropriate behavior at school. The district Code of Conduct and our Student Expectations Guide outline our expectations to ensure that we can maintain a high level of academic excellence at AMD. We are here to support the whole child. This includes recognizing that every child has the right to attend school in an environment free of threats, harassment, bullying and rumors. If you are aware of any peer concerns among your child or the peers in their grade, please reach out to our team so we can put the appropriate support in place. Many families have done this and we are grateful! 

Back to School Nights begin next week! We are looking forward to welcoming our 6th grade families on Thursday, September 26th and our 7th and 8th Grade Families on Monday, September 30th. This is a night for you to visit the classrooms of your child’s teachers. Please have their schedules available. We will provide a list of all the rooms where teachers are located for the evening. They have engaging experiences planned for you! Please remember, this is NOT a time for parent teacher conferences. To request a conference, please see the flier below and complete the form. Conferences will be held on November 5th and throughout the year. Your child’s counselor will reach out to you with a confirmed date and time of your conference. 

We recommend having your child’s schedule available on Back to School Night. We will have printed schedules and teacher room assignments, but having your own copy in advance will expedite this process.

Completamos otro exitoso simulacro de evacuación. ¡Nuestros líderes estudiantiles están haciendo un trabajo increíble con nuestro nuevo procedimiento! 

También sobrevivimos a nuestra primera luna llena del año. Bromas aparte, es imperativo que todas las familias hablen con sus líderes estudiantiles sobre el comportamiento apropiado en la escuela. El Código de Conducta del distrito y nuestra Guía de Expectativas del Estudiante delinean nuestras expectativas para asegurar que podamos mantener un alto nivel de excelencia académica en AMD. Proporcionaremos una lista de todos los salones donde se encuentran los maestros para la noche. ¡Ellos tienen experiencias atractivas planeadas para usted! Por favor, recuerde, este NO es un momento para conferencias de padres y maestros. Para solicitar una conferencia, por favor vea el volante de abajo y complete el formulario.
