Hey everyone! Dr. Nover here. Happy Friday!

We had an AMAZING 6th grade back to school night. Our new format allowed for families to visit classrooms. Teachers had work displayed and families engaged in learning activities similar to those students engage in in our classrooms. It was amazing to see so many smiling faces! The evening closed with a well attended math information night! We are looking forward to seeing our 7th and 8th grade families on Monday! We will all begin in the cafeteria at 6:00 PM. Families will visit classes from 6:15 - 7:15. Then, we will close the evening with a math parent night. This will include information about the high school learning pathways.

On October 7th, AMD will host representatives from our Assistant District Attorney’s office to teach our students about internet safety. Your children may have questions after the presentation. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to attend the evening session with ADA Laura Forbes at 6:00 PM via Google Meet. This session is only for parents and will NOT be recorded. The link is below! Only 6th and 8th graders will attend the presentation during the school day because our 7th grade students had this presentation while at Roosevelt. 

Next week we are closed on Thursday and Friday in honor of Rosh Hashanah. Happy New Year to all who celebrate!

Tuvimos una noche de regreso a clases de 6to grado INCREIBLE. Nuestro nuevo formato permitió a las familias visitar las aulas. Los maestros expusieron sus trabajos y las familias participaron en actividades de aprendizaje similares a las que los estudiantes realizan en nuestras aulas. ¡Fue increíble ver tantas caras sonrientes! La noche se cerró con una concurrida noche de información sobre matemáticas. Estamos deseando ver a nuestras familias de 7º y 8º grado el lunes. Comenzaremos en la cafetería a las 6:00 PM. Las familias visitarán las clases de 6:15 - 7:15. Entonces, cerraremos la tarde con una noche de padres de matemáticas. Esto incluirá información sobre las vías de aprendizaje de la escuela secundaria.

El 7 de octubre, AMD recibirá a representantes de la oficina de nuestro Asistente del Fiscal del Distrito para enseñar a nuestros estudiantes sobre la seguridad en el Internet. Sus hijos pueden tener preguntas después de la presentación. Por lo tanto, le recomiendo que asista a la sesión de la tarde con ADA Laura Forbes a las 6:00 PM a través de Google Meet. Come and hear Ossining High School student musicians, guest performers, and wonderful faculty performers: Mr. DiRienzo, Teacher Schizzano, Mr. Correllus, and Ms. Delgado. A reception with beverages, snacks and desserts will take place outside on the lawn immediately after the concert.
