Toward a Safe Day Everyday Report released | Gold Award recipients recognized

AME, PDAC and the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association present the results of the 15th annual Canadian Mineral Exploration, Environment, Health and Safety Survey in the Toward A Safe Day Everyday Report. The three organizations also recognized Boart Longyear and Wallbridge Mining Company Limited with the Safe Day Everyday Gold Award for their performance at PDAC 2021.

Permitting | Notice of Work Intake Continuous Improvement Project Update
Timelines for review and approval of Notice of Work (NoW) applications are a concern for both industry and government. As part of a larger review of the NoW application process, the Province is completing an in-depth review and redesign of the process of receiving and accepting applications. Permitting |  Reclamation Bond Calculator Guidance Update
A recent update was made to the Regional Mine Reclamation Bond Calculator Guidance Document.  In summary, Mines Inspectors still have the discretion to require additional reclamation where there are extenuating circumstances that warrant this, and where there is a clear rationale for doing so. However, the default course of action will be to ensure that roads are left in the condition they are found, while managing any site-specific water management, erosion, or stability concerns. Applications for Geoscience BC’s 2021 scholarship program are now open
Geoscience BC will award up to ten $5,000 scholarships to students who have registered and started in a MSc or PhD program in earth science, geoscience or applied geoscience. Applicants must be working on a British Columbia-focused geoscience thesis topic with applications to the discovery and development of mineral and/or energy resources (minerals, oil and gas, geothermal, coal and water). The application deadline for the 2021 scholarship program is April 30, 2021 at 4:00 pm PT. For more information and to view application forms, please visit the Geoscience BC scholarship page.
