Please join AMHSA on Wednesday, February 24, as we support anti-bullying (Pink Shirt Day).
Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when a male student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Since then, we recognize this date annually and worldwide as a day to stand against bullying. Unfortunately, bullying is still a major problem. It can affect anyone in any environment including schools, workplaces, online, social, and community spaces. Bullying creates fear and threatens the safety and well-being of individuals, families, and society.
This year, AMHSA is again working to raise awareness of bullying prevention and highlighting where to turn in need of help.
On February 24, AMHSA is encouraging support of workplace mental health strategies by:
-
Wearing something PINK - take a photo, and share it on social media using the #PinkShirtDay and #WhereToTurn hashtags!
-
Promoting this day with posters, social media graphics, email signatures, and helpline cards (you can find those images on the Government of Alberta's Pink Shirt Day webpage).
Together, we can raise awareness against bullying!
