The Fourth Industrial Revolution
and American Manufacturing
Guest post by Has Patel, Founder & President, Infologic, Inc. and AMP SoCal Executive Council Member.

The society and all its sectors are being disrupted by exponential growth in technologies. These changes show no signs of slowing down; in fact, they are accelerating rapidly. These challenges and opportunities are bought to us by the dawn of The Fourth Industrial Revolution. We stand on the brink of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another.

Industry Voice: Closing the Skills Gap for California's Manufacturing Sector

California manufacturing is faced with the growing challenge of finding skilled workers as baby boomers retire and the industry is growing. According to a report by the Public Policy Institute of California, the state will face a middle-skilled worker shortfall of 1.1 million that will affect all of its industries by 2030. This shortage will reduce productivity and profit and hinder job creation.

The SWAG program is another example of how AMP SoCal partners are providing innovative solutions to some of manufacturing's greatest hurdles. Right now, there are eight employers in SWAG with another dozen in line to join the group in the near future. Read about how SWAG is helping companies with their workforce challenges and what companies think about the program.
