We Are Seeking Interested Space Related Manufacturers to Join the
Southern California Space Consortium

The Air Force Space Command SMC – Space and Missile Systems Center posted a Request for Information for interest in establishing a consortium-managed “Other Transaction Agreement” (OTA) for prototyping space related requirements.  This opportunity is open to many different entities in the space sector.

The LAEDC, an AMP SoCal partner, submitted a letter of intent in response to RFI to lead consortium as agent. We are now looking for interested members to join. If interested, please submit your name, position, company, contact information and tech specialty areas through our letter of interest using the below link. There is no obligation attached. You will be informed of new developments as they occur.

Upcoming AMP SoCal Innovation Forum:
Fac-a-thon ~ February 10, 2017

Join us for the AMP SoCal Fac-a-thon on February 10. This aerospace research opportunity is available to all interested industry, faculty representatives and their chosen graduate students. We will use the information gathered through this initiative to prepare a proposal to the National Science Foundation's Industry/University Cooperative Research Center on Future Aerospace Platforms. This ties into the Fac-a-thon's ultimate mission of sharpening the competitive edge of A&D manufacturers and their supply chain, which includes more efficient technologies and processes for product development.

  AMP SoCal Innovation Forum:
Industry 4.0 Workshop

Investing in Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Infrastructure
Traditional physical infrastructure investment policies and programs are always useful to a nation. However, a January 2017 report by the prestigious Information Technology & Innovation Foundation, titled: Investing in “Innovation Infrastructure” to Restore U.S. Growth states the following observation, "While support for traditional physical infrastructure could help increase employment if it is debt funded, we should not expect it to address the underlying structural problems of low investment and productivity stagnation that face the U.S. economy. Nor will it do much to revitalize the U.S. manufacturing sector, which suffered unprecedented output and job losses in the 2000s. In addition, innovation-based growth seems to have stalled except in software. Filling potholes and repairing sewers will do nothing to address these deeper problems."
