CMTC is partnering with AMP SoCal and USC for a one-day 3D printing class
Sign up and spread the word about this special Intro to Metal 3D Printing: “One Day Bootcamp” In partnership with AMP SoCal, CMTC, and 3DVeterans. The Course is designed for engineers who are interested in learning the power of DMLS metal 3D printing and how to utilize metal AM in their workplace.The goal of the course is for attendees to design parts so as to understand the capabilities and limitations of the DMLS process.

Partner Meeting Engages AMP SoCal Collaborative for Future Industry Advancement
On April 26, AMP SoCal partners met at the USC University Club to participate in an interactive discussion about the accomplishments of the collaborative and the various ways the partnership can effectively make a positive impact on the region’s aerospace and defense (A&D) industrial ecosystem. An industry overview was presented, as well as the history of AMP SoCal and attendees were asked to identify, “What is the next workforce challenge in the region that needs to be addressed?”

AIAA LA-LV Section June Dinner Meeting

The proliferation of CCD technology -- in addition to the speed and processing power of modern personal computers -- has made it possible to capture images of deep-sky objects that far exceed the best resolutions amateurs were achieving only a few short decades ago. Join test pilot and amateur astronomer Tim McDonald as he explains the basics of telescope optics, space "navigation," closed-loop sky-tracking techniques, CCD sensor noise mitigation, signal-to-noise ratio optimization and the modern data processing techniques. Weather permitting, we will step outside after the presentation to observe a few planets and/or deep-sky objects through Tim's telescope.
