USC Center for Economic Development hosts Fireside Chat on National Cybersecurity Issues with
General (Ret.) Petraeus and Dr. Clifford Neuman

Please join the Price School - USC Center for Economic Development for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear from two of the nation’s foremost experts on matters related to cyber preparedness and national security on March 18. Together, General Petraeus and Dr. Neuman will discuss cybersecurity dangers, recent cyberattacks, and what actions the U.S. government and military are taking to prepare and what more needs to be done. This free event will be one hour at USC Lewis Hall or via live webinar.

Involved in the Unmanned Aerial Systems Industry? CED needs your expertise on March 21.

The USC Center for Economic Development (CED) is inviting those involved within the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) industry to share their expertise in a focus group meeting on Thursday, March 21 from 10 AM – 12PM either in person at USC or online . The focus group is sponsored by the Economic Development Administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce and will assist CED in providing insights into the UAS industry within Southern California.

GO-Biz Now Accepting Applications for
California Competes Tax Credits

The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) announced that it is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC). The tax credits, which are administered three times per year, are available to businesses that plan to expand to California or stay and grow in the state. For this application period, there are at least $74 million in tax credits available for businesses that are expanding and adding full-time jobs in California.

ExporTech Program Helps
Businesses Expand Globally

About 95% of consumers worldwide live outside of the U.S. and this has resulted in an increasing interest and priority for manufacturers to export their products. ExporTech, established by the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership and the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is a program that provides national export assistance in order to help new business or existing businesses to enter or expand into global markets, respectively.

Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute Offering Competitive Funding Opportunity

The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute (ARM), is a member of the Manufacturing USA network of institutes formed to overcome technical hurdles in key aspects manufacturing technology. ARM adapts technology in order to create sustainable growth and improve economic development by collaborating with businesses that aim to lead the future of robotics and automation in American manufacturing. Periodically they hold project calls to fund research to produce needed advancements.
