We are excited to announce that  Ken Shaw, VP of Supply Chain for Boeing Global Services  is joining us as keynote speaker at the AMP SoCal Bi-Annual Meeting. He will be joined on stage by  Gen. David Petraeus (Ret.)  where the two will discuss the future of aerospace and defense. They round out an outstanding lineup of speakers and panelists, featuring leading local industry, academic, and government speakers, all gathered together for this one day event to highlight the meeting's theme: Industry in Transition - Changes in Aerospace & Defense.

AMP SoCal Innovation Forum: Industry 4.0 Workshop

This event is for small and medium sized manufacturers engaged in research and development. The results of the workshop will be a blueprint for establishing R&D project clusters through the IMS program to share knowledge, provide broader solutions in less time, reduce research costs, and expand networks through building of domestic and international coalitions.

Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Industry Day

The NASA Management Office (NMO), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) the City of Pasadena  and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce are pleased to host the Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Industry Day. The Industry Day will provide attendees with information on doing business with the City of Pasadena, NASA Centers, large businesses and government agencies. Although this event will highlight programs and services for the WOSB community, all businesses are welcome to attend. 
California Competes Tax Credit Workshop

Mayor Garcetti, the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce are hosting a workshop on the California Competes Tax Credit. Small, medium, and large businesses are encouraged to attend the workshop and receive instructions on how to apply for this tax credit program. The next application period begins March 6, 2017.

The workshop and the program are free and available to businesses of all sizes throughout the state. For more information about California Competes, including an application guide and FAQs, click here.

Space Tech Expo & Conference is America’s B2B meeting place for space technology and engineering. The show brings together industry leaders, decision-makers and buyers to meet the engineering and manufacturing supply chain for commercial, civil and military space.

AMP SoCal Webinar Series: Episode 2 - California Advanced Manufacturing  Apprenticeship Collaborative (CAMAC)

CAMAC is a partnership between industry, community colleges, ToolingU, and Goodwill Southern California. The program is a US Department of Labor (DOL) registered apprenticeship that incorporates 16 occupations into a set of standards. The partners agree to the Pattern Standards of Apprenticeship and Goodwill acts as the administrative glue, coordinating activity and ensuring compliance to the program. 
New USC Center for Advanced Manufacturing Opens
for Future Student Innovation
Friday, February 24, marked the official unveiling of the University Of Southern California Viterbi School Of Engineering’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing. Developed by Center Director, Dr. Satyandra K. Gupta, the facility is among the first of its kind in the region, offering students and faculty access to state of the art technology in advanced manufacturing.
AMP SoCal recruiting manufacturers for free or reduced cost assistance

If you are an aerospace and defense manufacturer whose business has been negatively impacted by reduced Department of Defense procurement and contracting, you may be eligible for free or reduced cost business development services for your company. Businesses must be located in the counties of Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, or San Diego.

     U.S. Small Business Administration's Hubzone Program Workshops 

The U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) HUBZone program offers socially and economically disadvantaged business offers opportunities in promoting job growth, capital investment and economic development. This program provides for contract assistance to small businesses located in the economically distressed communities. These workshops also issue HubZone certification status, they take place each month from March-August 2017 in Glendale, CA.
Formation of Southern California Space Consortium
This opportunity is open to many different entities in the space sector

The Air Force Space Command SMC - Space and Missile Systems Center posted a Request for Information FA8814-16-9-0001 for interest in establishing a consortium-managed "Other Transaction Agreement" (OTA) for prototyping space related requirements.
