AMP SoCal partners among the state's most innovative workforce programs AMP SoCal partners, including the Aero Flex Pre-Apprenticeship Program, The Uniquely Abled Project, and MiraCosta Technical Career Institute, were among a strong list of 37 different programs nominated for the California Economic Summit's Partnership for Industry and Education (PIE) contes t this year. This list represents some of the leading workforce and training initiatives in the state and are prime examples of collaboration between industry and education providers. Click here to learn more

California Supply Chain Resilience Survey The Institute of Applied Research (IAR) at California State University San Bernardino is partnering with the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) in an effort to map California’s Defense Supply Chain for the purpose of identifying the communities, businesses and workers that may be affected by changes in defense spending. The A&D Forum has agreed to help distribute the survey to California-based employers who do business with the U.S. Department of Defense. Click here to learn more

AMP SoCal Bi-Annual Meeting focuses on skills gaps, preparing the next workforce A growing skills gap in the aerospace and defense manufacturing industry was a common theme at the fourth Advanced Manufacturing Partnership for Southern California (AMP SoCal) Bi-Annual Meeting, hosted by the USC Price School’s USC Center for Economic Development (CED) on Sept. 20.
