Kindergarten
Hello Nighthawk families. Thank you to everyone that joined us for parent teacher conferences. We loved meeting with everyone and discussing how we can partner to support our scholars. In the month of October we are continuing our celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, and hope to see everyone at the Fall Festival where we will showcase everything the scholars have been learning. In reading we begin to blend the letter sounds we have learned to read short words such as cat, dog, and box. In Math we will begin adding and subtracting numbers within 5. Be sure to ask your scholar about all the fun things they are learning in Kindergarten.

AP of Scholars and Deans
Volunteering: Parent and families are always welcome at AMS Glendale. If you are interested in volunteering or visiting your scholar’s classroom, please know that we have guidelines in place to ensure the safety of all scholars. Please reach out to Ms. Martinez-Mendez to schedule a time to review these guidelines, go through the volunteer handbook and get you started on the fingerprint clearance process. Parent volunteers add energy and fresh dimensions to scholars’ learning experiences, enable teachers to give more time and attention to individual students, and contribute to the strengthening of parent/teacher partnerships and school community.
Instructional Coaches,Ms. Hewson, AP
On October 31, 2022, the Arizona Department of Education released new letter grades for each school based on the latest state assessment data from the 2021-22 school year. Academy of Math and Science Glendale received “B” Labels, also considered to be “Highly Performing.” We attribute this performance to providing quality and rigorous instruction to all students with a focus on academic growth. Our students and staff have been doing amazing work. We strive to focus on instructional excellence and have also received incredible support from our parents and community. The latest school letter grade reflect that.
