Making the K-12 Orchestra Ethically Inclusive

Join us for this virtual panel discussion co-organized by the American Musicological Society (AMS) and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association (TODA). Featuring Marcus R. Pyle, Ashleigh Gordon, Aryc Lane, Matthew Morrison and Desiree Overree, it will explore the challenges and solutions to ethically incorporating a diverse repertoire into the K-12 orchestral classroom. The event will be held on Saturday, 28 January at 2:00pm ET.

Call for Annual Meeting Proposal Reviewers

The AMS is calling for volunteers to serve as proposal reviewers for the 2023 AMS-SMT Joint Annual Meeting. Volunteers must be AMS members, have a PhD or equivalent professional experience, and not be currently enrolled as a student as part of a program in music studies or a related field. (Must log into the AMS website to volunteer.)

2023 Pre-Conference Request Form Available

Organizations interested in holding pre-conference events as part of the 2023 AMS-SMT Joint Annual Meeting may now submit reservation requests. Pre-conference event space is granted on a first-come, first-served basis, as space allows. Pre-conference organizers must cover their own catering, A/V, and related expenses.
