2024 AMS Annual Meeting - Chicago

Submit a Proposal for the

2024 AMS Annual Meeting

The American Musicological Society (AMS) will hold its 90th Annual Meeting on 14-17 November 2024 in Chicago, Illinois at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel. If you are interested in sharing your work, please review the open calls listed below and submit a proposal. The individual paper, session, and performance proposal deadline is 15 February 2024. The deadline for AMS chapter, study group and committee proposals is 15 March 2024.

Call for Proposal Reviewers


The AMS is calling for volunteers to serve as proposal reviewers for the 2024 AMS Annual Meeting. Volunteers must be AMS members, have a PhD or equivalent professional experience, and not be currently enrolled as a student as part of a program in music studies or a related field. (Must log into the AMS website to volunteer.)

Brazil-U.S. Musical Exchange and the Good Neighbor Policy



Join us at the Library of Congress on 20 February 2024 for an AMS/Library of Congress Lecture by Miranda Sousa (University of Pittsburgh). In this lecture, Sousa brings to light the Luiz Corrêa de Azevedo Collection's role in the establishment of interdisciplinary studies for Latin American music at the Library of Congress.
