2023 Teaching Music History Conference

The 2023 Teaching Music History Conference, organized by the Society's Pedagogy Study Group, is being held online June 20–23 and 26–30. Prior registration is required.

Informational Workshops for AMS Council Members

The AMS will now hold three online informational workshops each year to educate AMS Council members about the Society's operations. The second workshop, on AMS Programs, will be held on 23 June 2023 at 3 PM EST. Invitation only.

Proposal Notices Sent 6 June

Proposal decision notices were sent out on 6 June 2023. If you submitted a conference proposal and did not receive a notice, please email us at events@amsmusicology.org. The deadline to edit accepted proposals is today at 11:59pm ET, 23 June 2023.

Serve as a Joint Annual Meeting Volunteer!

In exchange for 6.5 hours of service, volunteers receive a waiver of the meeting registration fee. Volunteers must be current members of either the American Musicological Society or the Society for Music Theory. The deadline to apply is 1 September 2023.

2023 Board and Council Election Results

We are delighted to announce the results of the 2023 Board and Council elections. Congratulations to our newly-elected Board and Council members, and thank you to all the candidates for their willingness to stand for election and serve. New Council members will formally begin their service on 1 November 2023. New Board members will undergo orientation this summer and formally begin their service in the fall.
