American Music


Apply now for the Society's Career Development Grants in American Music. These grants provide $800 to support attendance and networking activities at the 2024 AMS Annual Meeting for students and educators interested in American music. Grantees are required to participate in a special American Music track at the annual meeting. Applications are due 1 July 2024, 11:59pm ET.

If so, you must submit your scheduling request by 20 July for it to be considered as part of the scheduling of the conference. To submit a scheduling request, email the AMS Office at events@amsmusicology.org. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your request, but we will do our best!

In exchange for 6.5 hours of service, volunteers receive a complimentary meeting registration fee. Volunteers must be current members of the AMS. Apply by 1 September 2024.

The AMS awards publication subventions twice annually to help cover the cost of publishing works of musical scholarship. Subventions are granted for articles, books, and digital works on any topics of musicological research. Apply by 15 August 2024, 11:59pm ET.
