With AMS & SMT schedules and information on featured sessions, social events, exhibits, and more, it has everything you need to get the most out of the meeting. Plus the Program Guide is a searchable PDF, so you can download and print for offline reference. (The final Program Guide drops 4 November.)

What to Expect at This Year's AMS Annual Meeting
|
|
• Platform: The AMS virtual meeting site will be hosted on a Pathable platform.
• Rooms: Sessions will be held in Zoom meeting and webinar rooms.
• Paper Sessions: All papers will be pre-recorded. Attendees should view the relevant videos before attending the Q&A session listed on the program.
• Site access: Registrants will gain login access to the AMS meeting platform in late October to view presentation videos.
• Private Meetings: You can request a private meeting with a new acquaintance or old friend by using the "Request Private Meeting" option in Pathable.

• Joint events: Joint AMS-SMT events will be accessible via the Pathable platform to all those registered for either AMS or SMT.
• Exhibits: You may talk with exhibitors during scheduled Virtual Exhibit Hall times and browse exhibitor pages at any time.
• Social events: Social and networking events will be held live in Zoom rooms and Remo reception halls.
• Support: There will be volunteers in all session rooms to provide basic support. For more complex issues, contact AMS, SMT or Pathable staff.

Live Training for Chairs & Speakers on 4 November
|

Are you a speaker or session chair at the 2020 AMS Annual Meeting program? If so, you should join us for a live training session on using Pathable, the AMS virtual conference platform. The live session will be held Wednesday, 4 November at 4:00pm ET. To join the training use this Zoom link. (Not able to make the session? No worries. The session will be recorded and posted on the AMS website.)

Black Feminist Sound and Fury in the Porgy & Bess Archive
This lecture by Daphne Brooks (Yale University) recuperates the "secret history" of sonic strategy and counter-archiving deployed by an array of Black women stage actors, composers, playwrights, ethnographers, and artists across generations who inhabited or creatively critiqued the role of "Bess" and dissected, disassembled, and redesigned the sound and aesthetics of Black womanhood.
