A Word From The President
President's Message 1/20/2015
Another year has come and gone.  How fast this year has passed, but I look forward to another fulfilling year.
We, as a chapter, have accomplished so much this past year.  We have attended many events with our Outreach team, providing chair massage and supporting attendees, and hope to add more events to our calendar in 2015.  If you have an event that you would like to consider us attending, please contact us.  We have several Meet-Ups established across the state, who meet often and look to add new locations.

What the Research Says

Recent medical research indicates that massage therapy may help boost your immune system by increasing the activity level of the body's natural "killer T cells," which fight off viruses.

Elastic Therapeutic Taping
A Little Know-How, Goes A Long Way

Athletes wearing red, blue, black, and beige tape.  We have all seen it, and by now most people know that it is an elastic therapeutic tape that is used, among other things, to decrease edema, to relieve pain, and relax or facilitate muscles.  It is not often you find a modality that, when applied to the client, actually

Dear AMTA-IL Members,

Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Christine Stearns, from Carbondale, Illinois, and I currently volunteer as chair-person for the AMTA-IL Chapter Member Committee.

I've been a member of the AMTA from the time I was a student, 2012-2013 to present.  To be honest, since I didn't know anything about either the AMTA, or the "other organization", the ABMT.  The deciding factor to subscribe to the AMTA for my student membership, was based only on how much it cost.  However, i knew right away I had made the right decision
