Standing Rule Change Notification
IN Proposed Standing Rule Online Elections

The AMTA-IN chapter board will be presenting standing rule changes for membership approval at our upcoming annual/membership meeting:
Date: April 7, 2019
Time: 1:00pm Eastern
Location: Holiday Inn City Centre
Address: 515 S. Street, Lafayette, IN 47901

Per National AMTA Bylaws, we will require a 2/3 vote to approve the changes provided in the Attached Document . For your convenience, here is a clean copy of how our standing rules will read: Clean Version
Following is a summary of the changes proposed requiring member approval. Strikethrough in the document indicates we are proposing to delete that language/section, items in bold red are suggested adds to our standing rules.
Section 2. Offices and Positions, Section 3. Duties of Officers
Changes made to bring standing rules in alignment with national bylaws and position descriptions.
Section 4. Committees
Changes made to provide additional opportunity for members to volunteer.
Section 5 Meeting/Education
Changes made to bring standing rules in alignment with national bylaws and position descriptions and changes in process and responsibility of the Assembly of Delegates.

PROPOSE TO ADD NEW SECTION 7.

Section 7. Chapter Elections
The Indiana Chapter shall hold online elections in accordance with AMTA Bylaws and Policy.

Rationale for adding Section 7. Chapter Elections:
This change proposes that the chapter move from conducting elections at our annual meeting to conducting online elections. Online Elections would provide an opportunity for all AMTA Professional Members in Indiana to vote for elected chapter board positions and delegates electronically. Currently more than 50% of AMTA chapters are conducting their elections electronically, with an increase in voter participation.
Additional information will be provided at the meeting. We hope you will attend and exercise your member right to vote on this standing rule. If this passes, the chapter will conduct online elections in 2020.

Contact AMTA-IN Chapter President Kim Pucka if you have any questions about the standing rule change.
Thank you for your loyalty and for your valuable time.
RSVP to attend the meeting if not attending education.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Pucka Chapter President
