AMTA-WI Chapter President
Thank you from Jeffrey Montoya

I am honored to have been able to serve our chapter as your President for the last four years. This was a unique time for our profession as we navigated COVID-19. However, we were still able to accomplish much as a chapter.

Our Chapter Board has elected me to serve as the Chapter Financial Administrator for the remainder of the vacant term (2022-2023), so I will still be an active part of chapter leadership.

I am very excited to turn over the Chapter Presidency to Dr. Heather Thom. I know that she will do an excellent job leading our chapter. Thank you for all your support over the last four years!
Letter from the new AMTA-WI Chapter President Dr. Heather Thom

I am so very thrilled that you have elected me to be the President of the WI Chapter of AMTA. Over the past few years it has been wonderful getting to know so many members across the state. We have some very dedicated Massage Therapists doing amazing things for their profession, clients, and the community and I get to be a part of that. My hope is for the board to continue to provide meaningful and valuable opportunities for you all as we move forward and start to normalize things again. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if I can be of service to you. Yours In Service, Dr. Heather Thom

The Board on behalf of the membership would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Montoya for his hard work and dedication to our chapter over the last few years. As our way of saying thank you we have gifted him with a Peter Hess Sound Therapy Singing Bowl to utilize in his practice. Thank You!

2022 Awards & Anniversaries
Certificate of Appreciation - Rep. Paul Tittl
Our chapter President honored Representative Tittl with our chapter's 2022 certificate of appreciation. Representative Tittl has been a consistent advocate for our profession in the legislature for the last several years. He has sponsored assembly proclamations for Massage Therapy Awareness Week for the last several years. In 2018 he was the main author of our proposed legislation. Our chapter is grateful to Rep. Tittl and other lawmakers who take the time to learn about the issues affecting our profession and support legislation to support licensed massage therapists throughout Wisconsin.

Humanitarian Award - Madeline Gianforte, CSA & Core El Centro
Sister Madaline Gianforte is a religious sister of the Congregation of St. Agnes and the founder and executive director of Core El Centro. She became a massage therapist in 2001. Core El Centro offers complementary and alternative health and wellness services and classes to those who would otherwise be unable to afford access in the Milwaukee area. They have a particular outreach to the hispanic poor. You may learn more about Core El Centro and how you can support their mission at https://www.core-elcentro.org/

Meritorious Service Award - Dr. Heather Thom
Heather is a dedicated massage therapist and massage educator. She has served as our chapter secretary and is currently serving as our chapter president. She will be honored with the other chapter meritorious service awardees at the 2022 National Convention.
