FREE CASPer Webinar "How to Ace The Dreaded CASPer Test"
If you have to take the CASPer test you probably already know that you need to score exceptionally high, compared to other applicants, to get a chance at an interview invitation and that much sought-after acceptance letter. For some schools CASPer is worth ONE-THIRD of the pre-interview score. Other schools have a specific CASPer score cut-off and if you don’t meet the cut-off, your application is automatically rejected.

BeMo is hosting a webinar specifically on the CASPer test and will discuss key strategies on how to ensure that you do well.

During this training event, they are going to show you:
  • What to expect on CASPer
  • How to prepare in advance
  • Proven strategies to ace ANY CASPer question
  • Sample CASPer questions + expert analysis and response
  • Discussion with a former CASPer rater & admissions committee member
  • And much more!
We are excited to announce a new social media campaign that the premedical division is launching, called #AMWALearnsFromCOVID. As a brief background, it goes without saying that COVID-19 has become a huge part of our lives since its introduction in March 2020. The effects of COVID have been deep and far, affecting our lives on a personal level. The AMWA Premedical Division has been particularly interested in how COVID-19 has affected women. The goal and mission of the campaign is to spread awareness of prevalent issues that affect women due to COVID-19, while empowering and encouraging our members to anonymously share their stories. We will highlight topics and misinformation that are oftentimes overlooked. In solidarity with all women, we will be organizing a fundraiser and donate to the YWCA (an organization working to improve the lives of women, girls and communities of color through advocacy, local programming and services) and to Futures Without Violence (an organization working to end violence against women and children around the world).

The project will launch on August 16th and will last five days. Each day will focus on a specific topic (Pregnancy, Infertility Theories, Domestic Violence, Gender Equality, Mental Health). We hope that you will participate in our campaign. Please fill out this google form to find out all the lovely ways you can get involved in participating in our campaign!

Leader Highlight

Kaylee Travis, Region 6 Director

Kaylee Travis is an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biological sciences in the pre-health professionals program, with a minor in general psychology. She plans to pursue a job in Orthopedic Surgery and sports medicine as it combines her two passions of sports and medicine. Kaylee was on the AMWA National Pre-medical executive board the previous year as one of the Co-conference chairs. With the help of her Co-conference chair, Courtney, and countless others, she planned the Premedical division of the AMWA Leads 2021 National Conference. Kaylee also holds leadership positions as the National Liaison and Co-service chair of AMWA’s Ohio State branch, as well as the Marketing Chair of Mindveristy’s Ohio State branch. There she helps advocate for the destigmatization of mental health and promotion of mental health resources for those in the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities. Kaylee has recently joined Dr. Caroyln Presely of the James Cancer Hospital Solove Research Institute to research the barriers inhibiting older adult lung cancer patients in the Appalachian area from receiving cancer screening and treatment. Kaylee is also joining OSU's Fantasy Football club for her senior year in hopes of showing all the boys how it's done! In her free time, Kaylee enjoys volunteering, painting, working out, and watching as much football as humanly possible.

This is Kaylee’s third year involved with AMWA. She is so grateful for all the amazing people and experiences AMWA has given her and is looking forward to continuing to spread AMWA’s mission and possibilities with other pre-medical students. Kaylee firmly believes that joining AMWA, especially getting involved on the National level, has completely transformed and enriched her undergraduate experience, and she hopes it will do the same for you!
