I want to begin by thanking everyone for a beautiful day this past Sunday. Tears were shed as we closed the doors on this chapter of Good Shepherd. We celebrated the wonderful ministry that we accomplished for almost 7 years. Beautiful relationships and wonderful friendships also developed during those years as well.
So what is next for Good Shepherd? One of the things I noticed is that we would have more people watching us on the Internet on a Sunday morning than people who attended in person. As I wrestled in my soul for what would be next for Good Shepherd, I thought that what we must do is redefine our concept of church. In this age of the internet and technology, a church does not need to be limited by four walls. Ministry does not have to be confined to a building.
Brick and mortar do not define a church! The lesson that we have learned is that there is a need for people on the internet to hear a message of Christian hope and inspiration, especially for the LGBTQ community. We preach a message of the full inclusion of God's love regardless of sexual identity, age, race, gender or nationality.
People need to hear that message!
I have always preached on the amazing creation that God has given us. All of the wonderful diversity and beauty of God's creation is right here before our eyes, and yet many times we do not look. One of my favorite television programs on cable TV was a program by Huel Howser. The program highlighted different interesting spots around Los Angeles and Southern California. It was a fun way to learn new places and interesting things about Southern California.
With all of this in mind I have come up with the idea of a new live streaming project on our Facebook page for Good Shepherd. For a long time now we been live streaming our 10:30 AM Sunday worship service. I am going to continue that tradition with a live stream every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM with a message of hope and inspiration and a reading from Holy Scripture. I'm going to do this live stream from various locations around Pasadena, Los Angeles and Southern California in similar fashion to Huel Howser's program.
I am calling this new program "Good Shepherd Live Online". My first location for this coming Sunday will be from the campus of Pasadena City College. I'm going to keep it short. 15 to 20 minutes max. But it will be fun, inspirational, Christ centered, and will offer Hope and Grace. Throughout the year we will hold special events and "meet-ups" where we gather for fellowship, spiritual nourishment and fun!
So please join me this Sunday at 10:30 AM online through our Facebook page as Good Shepherd begins another chapter of our story. And keep tuned in for further exciting announcements about the ministry of Good Shepherd. Visit our website at MyGayChurch.com, or

. God bless.
