Virtual Nurses Networking Zone at AIDS 2020
ANAC, International Council of Nurses, Nursing Now and other nursing organizations are hosting a virtual Nurses Networking Zone during AIDS 2020. It will be available on-demand and free-of-charge during conference days with a live chat hosted by ANAC and others July 6-10 from 4-5 p.m. ET each day. We invite you to join and celebrate the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife and share the many contributions nurses have made in the global response to HIV/AIDS. More information and live links will be released next week.

JANAC releases global collection
The Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (JANAC) is pleased to announce the release of the JANAC Global Collection, a set of 13 articles chosen because they have relevance to an international audience and are geographically diverse. The collection includes "Integrating Mental Health and HIV Services in Zimbabwean Communities: A Nurse and Community-led Approach to Reach the Most Vulnerable" which won the JANAC Article of the Year award.

JANAC special issue
JANAC will publish a special issue focusing on resilience and well-being throughout the lifespan of people living with HIV in early 2022. Please consider submitting a feature article (including original research and systematic reviews), practice brief, program brief, commentary or case study to be included in this issue. The deadline is December 1, 2020. Click here for more information.

JANAC featured article
The May-June 2020 issue of JANAC focuses on neurocognitive issues associated with HIV and physical activity. Please be sure to read this month's featured article, Weekday and Weekend Physical Activity and Stationary Behavior Patterns of People Living With HIV, and complete the CEU test. ANAC responds to anti-Black sentiment and the murder of George Floyd 
ANAC recently released a statement in response to the murder of George Floyd and anti-Black sentiment in the U.S. that has led to ongoing protests around the world. We joined with other members of the Nursing Community Coalition to stand united in the fight against racial inequality and injustice. We call for America to be better and pledge to do all we can to support this important cause.

Center for HIV Law and Policy releases new resource
The Center for HIV Law and Policy (CHLP) released a newly revised publication, U.S. HIV Laws and Prosecutorial Tools , summarizing the federal and state laws used to prosecute people living with HIV (PLHIV), viral hepatitis and other sexually transmitted diseases.

ANAC and AAHIVM celebrate LGBT Pride Month through All of Us Research Program
ANAC joins with the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) to celebrate June as LGBT Pride month with an emphasis on our work for full inclusion of LGBT individuals in research through the National Institutes of Health  All of Us Research Program. ANAC and AAHIVM members collaborated on a series of video messages and are creating a virtual Pride parade on Facebook.  Check it out here!

Crystal Chapman Lambert, PhD, CRNP, invites nurses and advance practice nurses in the U.S. to complete a survey evaluating the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study is being conducted by researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The survey takes about 15 minutes and is anonymous. Your responses can't be linked back to any identifying information about you.

Joachim G. Voss, Ph.D., RN, ACRN, FAAN,  and colleagues at Case Western Reserve University invite you to participate in a study investigating how the COVID-19 pandemic may be affecting your emotional well-being and the type of coping strategies you are using to minimize emotional distress .  The survey takes 30-45-minutes and all information will be kept confidential.  

Natalie Leblanc, PHD, RN,  delves into the persistent inequalities that are influencing the health disparity experiences among people of color in the U.S. during the coronavirus pandemic  in the webinar, "The Fire this Time: Inequalities in the Time of COVID-19". The video and slides from the webinar are archived and available for on-demand viewing.

Ellen Matzer, Valerie Hughes, nurses, friends, colleagues and other ANAC members have published a memoir called Nurses on the Inside, Stories of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic in NYC.

Partners in Health CEO Sheila Davis shares an opportunity  to join a free course on pandemic preparedness and response, hosted by Partners In Health and the University of Global Health Equity. ANAC is looking for a nurse educator to join the team. This is a full-time position to lead ANAC educational efforts by developing and expanding educational and other programming services for ANAC members and the wider health care provider community and provide support and collaboration with related ANAC committees, affiliates and activities.
