Join us Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. ET for a webinar on COVID-19 Clinical Trials in Communities of Color, hosted in partnership with the COVID-19 Prevention Network. Panelists will explore health equity and COVID-19, including vaccine preparedness in disproportionally impacted communities. The webinar is open to all and registration is required

This year, Giving Tuesday coincides with World AIDS Day! So, on Dec. 1, we are asking all our members and supporters to help us move our mission of education and advocacy forward with a gift of any amount. Our goal is to raise $5,000. HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification
HANCB updates
Starting June 1, 2021, exciting changes are coming to the HANCB certification process for ACRN/AACRN. In addition, HANCB will be introducing a new certification for LPN/LVNs. Details of the updated certification process will be posted on the HANCB website soon. If you any questions about how this change will affect your status please contact Lynda Wileman

JANAC releases curated collection for World AIDS Day
JANAC has created a curated collection for World AIDS Day, featuring a collection of articles published by JANAC in 2020. The collection focuses on diverse content essential to HIV prevention, care and treatment. This timely collection includes authors from across the globe and covers important clinical information, as well as qualitative and implementation research topics.

ICAP hosts World AIDS Day event
ANAC partner organization ICAP at Columbia University is hosting a World AIDS Day event on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 10-11:30 a.m. EDT entitled Tackling Two Pandemics: HIV and COVID-19, featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci and a panel of global health experts. Click here to learn more.

Committee meetings
This year, our committee meetings will be held virtually between Dec. 2 and Dec. 10 in lieu of the committee meetings typically held during conference. All members are invited to attend any committee meeting of interest. Meetings will be one hour and held on Zoom, each featuring a short, timely presentation, updates on the committee work, goals for 2021 and an invitation to get more involved with the committee, if interested. Annual business meeting
At the annual ANAC Business Meeting, held virtually on Nov. 18, a summary of the 2020 ANAC committees was announced. Committee information can be found here.

Washington, D.C. chapter to host virtual 5B screening
Join our Washington, D.C. chapter and The George Washington University School of Nursing for a virtual screening of the film "5B" on World Aids Day, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with some of the nurses whose stories are highlighted in the film. Register here by this Friday, Nov. 27.

Project Kindle to host SPEAK OUT event
ANAC member Denise Corrigan invites ANAC members to attend Project Kindle's SPEAK OUT (Sharing Personal Experiences and Knowledge; Our Unique Truths), a live event where young people with HIV or AIDS will share their personal stories. The event will be held Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on Project Kindle's Facebook page.

Jeffrey Kwong appointed Co-Medical Director of HIV-AGE Initiative
ANAC member Jeffrey Kwong, DNP, MPH, AGPCNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
was appointed the Co-Medical Director of the HIV-AGE initiative, a joint venture between the American Academy of HIV Medicine and the American Geriatrics Society. He is the first NP in this role. This initiative provides clinical guidelines on HIV and aging, as well as CME/CE opportunities for clinicians.
HIV & Aging: Mitochondria to the Metropolis - Population Determinants of Health
The Emory School of Nursing is hosting a virtual HIV & Aging conference April 14-16, 2021. Registration will open soon. The Call for Abstracts is open, as is the application for the conference's Mentor Workshop.
