Conference
Save the date for ANAC2021
ANAC's annual conference will be held Nov. 11-13 in Washington, D.C. We are looking forward to seeing everyone this year and are planning a full, in-person conference with notable plenary sessions, invited speakers and abstract-driven sessions. We are also planning a Capitol Hill Advocacy Day on Wed., Nov. 10. Registration will open in May for in-person attendees. More details to come. Learn more.

ANAC committees submit commentary to NIH
In April, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) invited commentary regarding strategies to support racial equity, diversity and inclusion in biomedical research. In response, the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) committee and research committee collaborated to develop and submit a version of the following commentary on behalf of the organization. ANAC plans virtual regional networking meetings
ANAC is launching new regional virtual meetings in the next month to provide opportunities for members and potential members to collaborate and network with other healthcare providers throughout their region, even if there isn't an active local ANAC chapter in your area. Congratulations Patricia Cioe!
ANAC member, Dr. Patricia Cioe received notice of award for a new R21 grant from the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health. This clinical trial, Preloading with Nicotine Replacement Therapy in HIV-positive Smokers to Improve Self-Efficacy and Quit Attempts, will examine strategies to increase self-efficacy for smoking cessation among smokers with HIV.
