CDC funds United Way of Greater Nashville
On April 17, the CDC announced an award to the United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN). Through this mechanism, UWGN will provide sub-awards to CBOs in Tennessee currently funded through the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) to provide critical HIV prevention, testing and care services. This is in response to the earlier action by the TDH refusing CDC core HIV prevention funding and Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) initiative funding.

WHO recommendations on self-testing
The WHO and partners urge countries to fast-track implementation and scale-up of HIV self-testing. There are significant gaps in HIV diagnoses in Asia and the Pacific, where only 75% of people with HIV are aware of their HIV status compared to 81% globally. To reduce the gap, a range of differentiated HIV testing approaches, including HIV self-testing (HIVST) for key populations, is recommended.
Pediatric HIV and AIDS webinar recording available
On April 13, the ANAC global committee hosted a webinar titled Pediatric HIV and AIDS: Global Perspectives, featuring Dr. Ruth Nduati (University of Nairobi) and Dr. Hilary Wolf (OGAC/PEPFAR). It is available for viewing and enduring NCPD/CNE on the ANAC website.

Abstract deadline has been extended!
We encourage you to submit an abstract. The heart and soul of ANAC's conference are the presentations by our members and colleagues. We know that our members are doing great work every day, and have knowledge, skills and experiences to share. ANAC's conference is a remarkable venue to showcase your important work. Please share this with your colleagues and encourage them to submit their work as well. You do not need to be an ANAC member to submit an abstract. Authors are invited to submit abstracts that relate to the conference objectives. View the submission instructions and submit an abstract. You can also view a webinar outlining tips on submitting a successful abstract. Abstracts will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. ET on May 1. No abstracts will be accepted after that time.
Support conference scholarships
Our scholarship fundraising drive will be held during Nurses Week (May 6-12). All donations will go to increasing the number of full and partial scholarships we can offer. Our goal is $5,000 and every bit helps! Skip those lattes during the next few weeks and help bring deserving ANAC members to conference. Thanks in advance!

CDC mpox update
CDC estimates that new cases of mpox average about one case per day, down from more than 450 cases per day. However, they caution that those most at risk, including gay, bisexual, other men reporting sex with men and transgender communities, average a 25% vaccination rate and without additional vaccination coverage there could be a resurgence in cases.
CDR HIV Cluster Detection and Response
A new Science Brief from the CDC provides an overview of the current evidence supporting HIV Cluster Detection and Response (CDR) with strategies for optimizing the response, including increased community engagement and clinician outreach.
