ANA to advocate for gun safety
ANAC is an Organizational Affiliate member of the American Nurses Association (ANA). As such, we are a voting member of the ANA General Assembly, the governing and official voting body of the ANA. At the recent annual assembly, we joined with others to overwhelmingly pass an urgent recommendation that ANA will advocate for meaningful legislation to address gun safety and firearm access.

ANAC ED attends Hill Day
ANAC Executive Director Carole Treston joined more than 350 nurses from across the country in Washington, D.C. for ANA Hill Day on June 15. Attendees advocated for key federal policy issues to address the nurse staffing crisis and remove barriers to APRN full practice authority, with an emphasis on the ICAN ACT, to remove some barriers to APRN practice within Medicare/Medicaid.

ANA releases statement
ANAC joins the ANA in rejecting laws and policies that allow healthcare professionals to discriminate against LGBTQIA+ populations. Granting health care professionals, institutions and insurers the ability to use conscience-based objections to refuse treatment or deny access to health care coverage is discriminatory and violates the human rights and dignity of patients.
