October is National Dental Hygiene Month. Here are some reminders to keep you on top of your oral healthcare.
Brushing and Flossing: This may seem like a simple reminder, but it is truly one of the most important steps in maintaining a healthy mouth. Brushing twice a day and flossing helps to remove plaque and buildup on the surface of your teeth as well as between your teeth. Using a toothpaste with fluoride helps prevent tooth decay and remineralize the tooth’s enamel.
Eat Healthy Foods: Avoiding sugary drinks and snacks is the best way to achieve a healthy smile. Instead choose vegetables such as celery and carrots, broccoli, and other green leafy vegetables which provide an excellent source of vitamins and minerals that aid in strengthening tooth enamel.
Visit your Dentist: Be sure to keep up with your routine visits, generally twice a year for a cleaning and exam. We are here for you and look forward to seeing you at your next appointment!
