Sacred Simplicity: Worship Spaces Among the Brethren in Atlantic Northeast is a newly released book that examines how and where the people known as Brethren have worshipped in the area now known as the Atlantic Northeast District of the Church of the Brethren. The author focuses on 122 House Churches, 180 Meetinghouses, and 110 congregations. This volume includes over 170 photographs and illustrations.
Written by George Douglas Gehr (ANE Historical Committee Chair), Sacred Simplicity is more than a look at history. It is intended to challenge how we approach worship in ways that sustain our awareness of the presence of God while demonstrating our core values and beliefs. This comes at a time when the various Brethren bodies are preparing to celebrate the three hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Germantown.
Sacred Simplicity is only available as a PDF download for the price of $9.00. To get your copy visit www.peaceabilitypress.blog and click on “SHOP”.
