Dear Einstein Community,

The Office of Biotechnology and Business Development is excited to roll out the New MTAShare™ service. It is an online system for the Material Transfer Agreement (“MTA”) process. It is implemented to streamline and expedite the process of MTAs with feature such as Single Sign-On ("SSO")

Benefits of using MTAShare™

• Decreases turnaround time for standard academic MTAs
• Increases transparency, trackability and accountability
• Minimizes burden on Einstein’s drafting and review efforts
• Maximizes efficiency for all parties involved in the process



• MTAShare will be implemented in phases, starting November 1, 2022
• Phase 1: As of November 1st, Einstein will REQUIRE any academic outgoing non-human material requests be routed through MTAShare 
• During this period, all other types of material requests should continue to be submitted via traditional routes (human material requests via RARP and non-human incoming material requests via [email protected])
• Phase 2: All non-human MTAs (incoming and outgoing) [Date: TBA]
• Phase 3: All MTAs (including human material) [Date: TBA]
• Supporting transition: The office will be supporting all users in their transition to the new system by providing info-sessions, holding office hours and guides:

    VIRTUAL INFO-SESSIONS: On October 12 and October 26 at 2:30 ET, register below.

    VIRTUAL OFFICE HOURS: Starting October 17, every Monday between 2:30 to 3:00 ET.

ACCESSING MTAShare™

The new portal can be accessed by visiting mtashare.com or from the Material Transfer Agreement webpage at the Office of Biotechnology and Business Development website. Using your Einstein Active Directory (AD) credentials, you can log-in to the portal using Single Sign-On ("SSO").

UPCOMING INFO SESSIONS ON MTAShare™

We will be hosting two information sessions in October to help users with the new MTAShare™ submission portal. We strongly encourage that you make yourself available during either of these sessions and register for the event advance. 

WEEKLY OFFICE HOURS ON MTAShare™

If you are not available during either of the info-sessions above, or have questions that have not been addressed by the info-sessionthe, the office will also host weekly office hours:
