The EPA Releases

New Lead Service Line Inventory Guidance

Thursday, August 4, 2022:  The EPA released new guidance today for Lead and Copper Rule Revisions that will give best practices for inventory creation - including an inventory template for systems to use as a reference and examples using case studies. EPA Assistant Administrator for Water, Radhika Fox, said "[The] EPA is committed to working with states, Tribes, and water utilities to get the lead out of our drinking water. We are using every tool available”. Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), this new guidance will also see the investment of $15 billion in funding to be used for lead service line replacement.
