Cancer Caucus

In February 2024, Hamilton County Commission President Alicia Reece proposed the creation of a cancer caucus during her State of the County Address to drive greater funding and investment in cancer research, extend more resources, and create opportunities to fight cancer more effectively for the community at large.

In October 2024, President Alicia Reece made history by hosting Hamilton County's first-ever State of Cancer Forum and establishing a Cancer Caucus as a national model for strengthening community-based healthcare systems. Partnering with the 513 Relief Bus and numerous service providers, the event offered free screenings for prostate, head, neck, and lung cancer, along with other vital services.
