NEW PROJECT WITH ECHO - PHASE 2!

investing in people, jobs, and sustainability

a partnership with El Camino Homeless Organization + Must! Charities

This may seem like a familiar project because back in 2018, we built the Must! Community Kitchen and Workforce Development Center. Then COVID happened just as the kitchen was almost complete, so phase 2 never really transpired. With the pandemic and then ECHO branching out to fulfill the need for a second North County shelter in Paso Robles, phase 2 of the kitchen got put on the back burner (pun intended), but it was not forgotten!

Must! is stepping in to help launch and expand ECHO’s Workforce Development Kitchen program by investing in its strategic plan to provide job training in all aspects of food services, develop employment pathways, and create a social enterprise for sustained long-term success.

Donor Spotlight - Giving since 2013

As we work toward our vision of "changing the model of philanthropy" and focus on investing in nonprofits through trust philanthropy, it is important to build deeper relationships built on trust with our donors too.

Meet my friend and Must! partner Koene. We met back in 2013 when another donor introduced us. Koene is a beacon of inspiration whose life embodies philanthropy, advocacy, resilience, leadership, compassion, and relentless determination. Her unwavering commitment to empowering others, coupled with her life experiences, education, drive, and optimism, makes her a role model for all who aspire to make a difference in the world. Every time I spend the day with Koene, I am in awe – her life stories inspire me. She has inspired me to learn more, travel more, live more, love more, garden more, walk more, celebrate more, invest more, create more, laugh more, and, most of all, surround yourself with those who lift you up. She is that person to me; she lifts me up, and I am so blessed to have her in my life. If it weren’t for Must! Charities, our lives might not have ever crossed, and I’m so grateful that they did. She is a gift to me and our community! ~ Becky Gray
