#1 - WHAT'S THE CONVENTION DATE & AGENDA?

AGENDA FOR OUR 2022 CONVENTION

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14: 

  • 9:00 am to 10:00 am – Registration in Garden Center
  • 10:00 am to noon - Panel on Wetlands Tomorrow
  • Shawn Jaques, the President and CEO of the Water Security Agency (who have begun the process of developing a wetland drainage policy) will be present to comment on the issues faised by the panelists. 

      Noon Luncheon

  •  1:00 to 2:15 pm – Members Fair
  • The Resort Villages of Turtle View, Coteau Beach, Candle Lake, Lumsden Beach, Island View, & Manitou Beach - along with the OH of Pasqua Lake and the District of Lakeland - will share their stories  

      Coffee Break

  • 2:45 to 3:45 pm – Supporters' Fair - Part One
  • A Speaker from Advisory Services will share their reflections about the best times to seek help from Advisory Service, along with advice about the recent requirement that RMs review their division boundaries. 
  • 3:45 to 4:15 pm - Supporters' Fair - Part Two
  • PARCS President, Garry Dixon, will speak about the challenges faced by RMs with cottage communities within their boundaries including: the dual issues of having campgounds within their boundaries and of issuing permits fo recreational vehicles. 

      5:00 to 6:00 pm – Happy Hour

      6:00 to 8:00 pm – Annual Banquet

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5:       

  • 7:15 to 8:30 – Full Breakfast in Garden Center
  • 8:30 to 9:15 am – Annual Meeting: Part 1: Reports
  • 9:15 to 10:45 am – Breakout into Regional Meetings
  • 10:45 return to Garden Center – Pick up coffee upon entering
  • 10:50 am to noon – Annual Meeting: Part 2: Priority Issues
  • Noon - Adjourn

#2 - WHAT ABOUT THE COVID CHALLENGE?

We plan to have lots of space between seats. Masks and hand wipes will be available at the registration desk for those wishing to use them.


#3 - WHAT'S BEING PLANNED FOR FUN?

The convention will last 1.5 days. The first day is designed to allow for lots of NETWORKING between communities, concluding with a happy hour and a banquet (which will feature the return of our annual skit).

The following morning will deal with our PARCS business and set our priorities for the future.  PLEASE PLAN TO JOIN US!   


#4 - HOW TO REGISTER FOR CONVENTION?

Email parcs@sasktel.net:

  • State the name of your community (RV, OH, RM, other).
  • State the name(s) of the person(s) who will be attending.
  • Include a cheque for registration fees of $225 each for members or $250 each for non-members. Mail the registration plus the cheque to: PARCS at #129, 425 4th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 8B7.
  • We will reply by email stating that you are registered.
  • You will receive a receipt when you check in at convention. 

#5 - RESERVATIONS at the HILTON GARDEN INN 

  • Phone 1-306-244-2311 (main number for hotel) for reservations
  • Guest rooms available at PARCS' convention rate of $129 plus tax, for either 2 double queens or 1 single king.
  • Parking in adjoining lot at $8 per day. 

#6 - NUMBER OF DELEGATES REGISTERED TO DATE

  • 24 delegates have registered to date.  Not all have paid their fees.  We are holding the cheques for deposit closer to convention date.
  • At the last PARCS Board meeting a motion was passed "that should registration not reach a total of 45 by September 14th, then serious consideration will be given to CANCELLING THE CONVENTION.
