NEW!!! May - Mental Health Awareness Month

ACP students join with other schools and organizations across the country to recognize …
MAY ~ MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

The month of May has been recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month in the United States since 1949. It was founded by the Mental Health America organization (then known as the National Association for Mental Health) in order to raise awareness and educate the public about mental illness, including conditions like depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Mental Health Month aims to raise awareness regarding the trauma and societal impact that mental illness can have on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children, families, and communities as a whole.

This May, Antonian students will have the opportunity to participate in awareness activities such as:
  • Mindfulness Mondays, (green, the official ribbon color of mental health and wellness),
  • Workout Wednesdays, (emphasizing the positive impact exercise and physical activity has on mental health) and
  • Furry Friend Fun Fridays (to raise awareness of the importance of rest, relaxation and restorative sleep on our overall mental and physical health). Apache Minds, ACP’s club of student leaders in mental health awareness, will also be hosting other activities that will be communicated throughout each week.

An email about the special dress on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be sent to student emails.

Some of these activities are:
  • “MAYnicures” ~ students will be at tables to paint nails with one of a different color to signify “1 in 5 mind” – one in five adults and children in the US struggle with a mental illness.
  • Canines for Christ mental health support dogs will once again be visiting Antonian along with their wonderful owners/trainers.
  • Music will be played during passing periods to emphasize the positive effect music can have on our mood and daily functioning
  • Students will have the opportunity to eat outside with Apache Minds Club for picnic discussions each WEDNESDAY on mental health and wellness

The Apache Minds Club and Dr. Gonzalez thanks all students for their participation during this important month and for everyone’s help and support in reducing the stigma that has been associated with mental illness for far too long!

Past Due Balances and Missed Payments

Due to the demand of this event, your payment is non-refundable with in 72 hours of the event.
Families may schedule an appointment with their primary physician. For further information, please click on the link below. If you have any questions, reach out to Coach Halaba at [email protected].

Additionally, in order to make this event a success and to offer more appointment times, we are in need of medical personnel (nurses for vitals and physicians to conduct the physical). If you are available and would like to volunteer, please contact Coach Halaba by email as soon as possible.
