UPDATE! Student Locks for Lockers
The shipment that had been delayed, but expected yesterday (Tuesday, August 17th), has been delayed further due to COVID-impacted supply chain issues.

As a result, we have switched gears and sourced from a new vendor who guarantees an earlier arrival date, but still not this week. Although it is normally our practice that students only utilize Antonian-issued locks, in the interest of securing belongings, if a student wishes to use a personally-acquired lock in the short run, we will allow this. Once the locks have arrived, we will revert to our practice of requiring the Antonian-issued locks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
UPDATE! Student Chromebooks

We are currently experiencing a shortage of Chromebooks due to a backorder on devices ordered over the summer, along with some unforeseen technical issues with Antonian devices.

While we are working to procure more devices, we are asking that teachers allow students who have not been issued a Chromebook to use their phones in class through the rest of this week. Additionally, if we are not able to issue Chromebooks to those students that have not yet received one by the end of this week, we will allow them to use a personal laptop or tablet to accomplish any work tasks in class if they have one at home. THERE IS NO NEED TO PURCHASE A DEVICE!

Additionally, Antonian has asked the English department to survey students to ensure that we have the most up-to-date and accurate listing of students. Mr. Nowak will be working with these students to get Chromebooks for them as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.
UPDATE! Flynn O'Hara Student Uniforms

We have received a number of calls relating to Flynn O'Hara. We have received communication that they are working through their peak season and have continued to be impacted by employee shortages and COVID-related distribution challenges and that uniforms are on back order. If you are a family who is currently waiting on uniforms from Flynn O'Hara, please reach out to the Dean of Students, Jenny Russell at
Capital Campaign Update
Capital Campaign | Phase II Approval
Tennis Court Rebuild
We are pleased to announce that Phase II -- composed of the multi-sport indoor athletic facility and tennis court renovation projects -- has been approved by the Archdiocese.
The Marc Portell Elizondo Memorial Tennis Center will provide our student-athletes a home for practice and competition that has been missing for over seven years.
The multi-sport indoor athletic activity center will provide up to two basketball courts or four volleyball courts, a new weight room, new girls locker rooms, and an athletic training room with more space to better treat and rehabilitate our student-athletes.
We are thankful for the diligent efforts of the campaign committee and our many donors that have made this possible. We have a long way to go to complete the campaign and pray that as a community, you will join us as we strive to continue Antonian’s legacy.
In the coming days, we will send out a date for our tennis groundbreaking ceremony and hope you will be able to join us.

2021 Hall of Fame

Established in 2012, the Antonian Athletic Hall of Fame seeks to honor those individuals who distinguished themselves in athletic competition or in endeavors in
support of Antonian athletics. Those chosen for induction into the Antonian Athletic Hall of Fame have influenced our society in athletics, academics, and service while at Antonian and well beyond their graduation. Each year Antonian College Preparatory High School celebrates the achievements of this select group of inductees along with fellow alumni, friends, and family at the Hall of Fame Dinner.
Class Balancing Needs

As with all years, in an attempt to meet the desires of as many students as possible on schedule change day, we have had a few class periods get very crowded. As schedule changes calm down, the counselors will now try to rebalance classes as much as possible. Over the next seven (7) to 10 days, we will make adjustments as needed to improve instructional delivery. Students will not be changed from a particular subject but may have the period for a specific subject moved. We will not change their “open” period as we understand many of these are based on family needs.

We ask that all of the Antonian community understand that these changes will be held to a bare minimum yet must be done to create the best possible learning environment for our students.

Reading Suggestions From Students/Staff
Red Queen
By: Victoria Aveyard

Suggested by: Alyssa Flores (12th)

Theme: Rebuild

Summary: Red Queen is a book set in Mare Barrow's point of view where her world is divided by blood in which those with silver blood have power and those with normal blood are powerless in every aspect. She soon discovers that although she has red blood, she has powers like those with silver blood. Mare is hidden from the public, but she has to step up and lead the rebellion.

Take Away: I learned that no matter how much people try to tell you that you are not enough, you can show that you are strong and clear the obstacles in your path. Mare was a character that indeed showed me the significance and fundamental importance of determination. A takeaway from this book was to do the right thing even if it is difficult.
