Advent Begins on December 1

As we approach the end of the semester and the busy holiday season, let us remember that Advent is a sacred liturgical season. It is a time when the Church calls us to prepare our hearts, making room for the Lord as we anticipate Christmas.

One meaningful way to prepare is by creating an Advent wreath at home. Each week, as you light a candle, gather your family to pray together on the four Sundays of Advent. This practice can help deepen your family's spiritual preparation for the birth of our Savior. You can find prayers for each week at this link (Hyperlink with the link shared above)

First Sunday of Advent – Sunday, December 1

The first candle on the Advent wreath symbolizes Hope. This Sunday not only invites us to reflect on the coming birth of Christ but also marks the beginning of a new liturgical season. The candle is purple, representing royalty and penitence, which are central themes of Advent. Often referred to as the "Prophecy Candle," it draws us back to Isaiah's foretelling of the Messiah’s birth and the promises of the Old Testament fulfilled through Jesus.

Reminder! Uniform Reminders from Mr. O

As we enter into our winter months, temperatures will drop. Please be reminded that we must all remain in dress code compliance.

On "regular dress days," students are allowed to wear Varsity Cardigan Sweaters obtained through Flynn O'Hara or the official Antonian-branded outerwear sweatshirts obtained directly through our Antonian Trading Post. Other forms of outerwear may be worn to campus, but must be removed/taken off while inside of the school buildings.

On "mass/formal days," students are allowed to wear a navy blue sweater, navy blue fleece jacket, or navy blue Antonian signature sweatshirt as outerwear. Other forms of outerwear may be worn to campus, but must be removed/taken off while inside of the school buildings.

*In addition to the appropriate outerwear attire, students are also permitted to wear Antonian letterman jackets, Antonian hoodies, and other TAPPS related outerwear.

If you are found to be in violation of our campus outerwear requirements inside of our school buildings, you will be required to remove/take off that article of clothing for the remainder of the day.

Slippers of any kind (classic slip-ons, moccasins, house slippers, UGG slippers, etc.) are not allowed at Antonian during any school day.

Antonian will classify the UGG slippers according to the official UGG website. Should you have questions regarding UGG slipper footwear clarification, please refer to the UGG website at https://www.ugg.com/women-slippers/ and filter "Slippers".
