Kyra Ferguson - CIA Deer Creek Camp
|
Kyra (10th grade) dedicated a week this summer serving as a Christian-in-Action (CIA) volunteer during "Friends Week" at Deer Creek Camp in Medina, Texas. With this program, Kyra was solely responsible for a young woman with special needs who had never been to camp before, spending 24-hours a day with her camper on a one-on-one basis for the entire week. With Kyra’s guidance, her camper buddy took part in all the camp projects and activities for the week - including a talent show and swimming! Kyra made sure her camper was safe and happy, while learning critical life skills and how to be more self-reliant.
